At Wallace Fitness Center in Delmont, Pennsylvania, we offer small group, “bootcamp”-style training. I recently wrote a blog post about the value of personal training, and while small group training shares many of the same benefits, it offers a unique twist. Today, I want to highlight the advantages of small group training and help you decide if it might be the right fit for you.
One of the biggest values a trainer brings—whether in a personal or small group setting—is the ability to push you just beyond your comfort zone. Trainers provide real-time feedback on technique, help you stay safe, and create a strong sense of accountability. This is true across both formats. All of our trainers at Wallace Fitness Center in Westmoreland County, PA are certified professionals who train full time. This isn’t a side job—they do this for a living and are passionate about it.
Small group training offers a slightly different experience than personal training. After over a decade in the fitness industry, I’ve found that some people thrive in a group environment. They enjoy the energy of working out alongside others and often develop friendships with the people they see multiple times per week. In fact, many lasting friendships have started right here in our bootcamp classes.
Compared to one-on-one personal training, group training fosters more of a community vibe. Some people love that camaraderie, while others prefer the individualized focus of personal training. There’s no wrong answer—it simply depends on what you enjoy. While one-on-one training naturally provides more direct attention, we keep our small group classes limited to 10 people or fewer, which allows us to maintain quality coaching and close oversight. Unlike gyms that pack classes to unmanageable sizes, we prioritize attention to detail. If you’re interested in trying a free week of bootcamp classes, just fill out the contact form below and we’ll get in touch within 24 hours to help you get started.
